Our party of 14 had a dream weekend in this big, comfortable home which is located on property touching the Frio River. Donny was a friendly and gracious host, always ready help with anything we needed to make sure our stay was ideal – Thank you ! 6/2/2017

Everything about this house is exceptional. It is cozy and comfortable. Being right on the riverbank was awesome! Donny shuttled us several times upriver for tubing and came and hung out with those of us that just wanted to sit in the water and visit with the passing tubers. Donny is a great host. You won’t be disappointed if you rent this gorgeous house!

Great house and great access to the river! Donny is a wonderful host that will take you and tubes wherever you want to go to float!

Our family of 12 had a great time at Porters Tree Haus. The house is much bigger than it looks in the pictures and the beds are comfortable. Lots of space to entertain or lounge.

Donny was a great host. He made sure we were happy and gave us tips on the best places to get in for tubing. He even drove us and dropped us off. The Tree Haus is perfectly situated between Seven Bluffs (where we were dropped off for riding down the Frio) and the second run to Neals Crossing. You can ride down the river, get out to eat lunch at the Tree Haus, and go on the second half of the ride.

We will be coming back. Everyone had a great time. Thank you Donny.

Donny was an awesome host, it was a joy having him around, we even invited him for meals so we felt like friends when we left. He took us upriver everyday and was always available with any questions or concerns, he or his concierge Michele were always right there with the answer for whatever we needed. The house is absolutely breathtaking, just stunning! The pictures do no justice for the expansive, open, luxurious feeling or the almost nostalgic, rustic details of both the interior and the exterior. The camera just doesn’t do the job! Our group was made up of 20 people total and we were comfortable. The front porch is very, VERY large and there is a lot of seating, it is much bigger than it appears. When we had a rainy evening the fireplace was awesome. I think we were the first to burn a fire there since we were the 4th family to stay there. The sofa easily seats 8-10 people it’s oversized with the deepest seats I’ve ever sat in, this could definitely be used as extra bed space. Plus all the side chairs, the seating at the huge dining table, to say nothing of the comfy barstools around the kitchen and bar tops. There was seating downstairs for days. The kitchen looks divided in the pictures since the kitchen and bar area are both along the back wall. Since we rented the house before completion, when I saw the pictures I thought it was a bad layout but once we got there, the bar/kitchen area was my favorite space. It was great to store all of your drinks and also was a great buffet for serving lots of hungry people. There was a wine cooler and a small ice machine that wasn’t hooked up yet, but it worked great for keeping a bag of ice in for drinks. The countertops in the kitchen and bar tops are all 4 inch thick slabs of rough-sided wood that Donny had milled from his property, it was something you had to take extra care of but it was beautiful. He provided dish towels to prevent stains so overall it was fine. The kitchen was well stocked for being the first month he had visitors. There were a few things I would have brought (large crock pot, big soup pot, serving spoons and tongs, large glass bowl for the microwave) but I think he will have all those little things in place as time goes on. The pantry and refrigerator storage was beyond adequate. Having a half bath both upstairs and downstairs also cut down on feeling cramped since there was rarely a wait for facilities. And then, there’s the river…Ahhhh loved it!
