All About Cory Morrow
Born in Houston, Texas, Cory Morrow has always found that happiness comes naturally and his attitude off stage has contributed immensely to the token wit and self-deprecating humor in his music. According to Cory, “I’ve always been able to find happiness and help others find happiness,” he says. “But there’s a difference between happiness and joy. Now, I feel like there’s a deeper sense of joy that’s not circumstantial.” This evolution from happiness to joy has resulted in Cory seeking to be a force for good in his community or grief or suffering. “It’s looking around my community and just seeing where there’s loss. Is there any way I can be there for somebody?” he said about his approach to doing for others.
His Latest Music
Rollicking, soulful, feel-good Texas country is how many have described the music of Cory Morrow, and with “The Good Fight” (Morrow’s last album), the pied piper of honky-tonk shows no signs of slowing down. The deep joy that Cory has discovered is evident through throughout the album. It manifests itself through songs about a life filled with love and purpose. The album combines heavy influences from “gritty rock, thumping gospel, and Morrow’s signature juke-joint country” to create a one of a kind experience that leaves you feeling good and uplifted. The songs on this project encourage the listener to dig deeper and look at the bigger picture by spotlighting faith and relationships as well as the intersections of the two.
