Everything you need for a VERY large party. Lots of things to do for adults and kids. The owner (Donny) stays on top of everything. Awesome place.

Held our annual navy reunion here. I could not recommend it higher 5 Stars Beautiful Pl. great owner secluded sleeps so many people we had so much fun every accommodation you can think of and more highly recommend it.

We held our annual Navy Reunion at this rental. What an awesome experience we had. The site is so beautiful and well maintained. The houses are beautifully furnished and have everything you need. I would highly recommend vacationfrio to anyone that are planning an event or family getaway. Thanks Donny for all you did to make our event memorable!!!

Not only was the house absolutely gorgeous, clean and a great spot on the river, the owner was the most hospitable man I have met. He was extremely helpful with directions to the house and actively engaged in helping out with any thing we needed. I would 100% recommend staying here. We will be back! By the way, the A/C keeps it super cold no matter the temp outside 👌🏼

Sorry this review took me a bit. We recently stayed at the Haggville Hacienda and truly enjoyed our stay! Donnie was very accommodating for our crew and ensured that everything was ready for our stay. His custom work in the home is beautiful and it shows that he truly cares about the property. Unlike other places we've stayed in the past, it's more than just a "rental" to turn people in and out. His location on the river is perfect...shaded, deep, etc. Hopefully we'll be able to float again given the recent string of dry years, but...given his location on the river, you're still able to enjoy the Frio. Overall, I highly recommend Donnie and his properties. We're actually planning on a return for next year! Thanks Donnie!

Awesome place to stay!! We had a wonderful family getaway at Ella’s Guest Lodge. It had plenty of space for all 20 of us to be comfortable. It was super clean and the back patio and location was awesome! Donny is an amazing host!!! He made sure we had everything we needed. He was easy to communicate with and got back to us fast. We LOVED it here and will definitely stay at this location again!!! Thanks Donny for making our stay a fun and memorable family vacation!! We appreciate you!

Just had a wonderful time at the house on the river. Filled with family fun and looks at the river and the birds in the early morning brought back memories of past trips to Concan. House is beautiful, lots of space, loved the large patios to sit on and look out at the river. River was low but is worked out perfect for the family with the little ones. Nice getaway.

Wonderful time spent with my family and friends! My only complaints are 1) there are not a ton of outlets in the bedrooms, especially for the folks who are sleeping on the top bunks and 2) the ladders to the top bunks are a little steep, making it difficult to get up and down safely. Other than that, WONDERFUL location, WONDERFUL accommodations, WONDERFUL service and friendly owners. We will definitely be visiting again!

Beautiful location!!

Wonderful!!. Donny will accommodate you any way he can. Location of river is beautiful and not as crowded as other places. . The kitchen is fabulous with everything you need! Free shuttle to wherever you want to go to float! We come every year!!

Best home rental on the Frio River!

This was the second time our group (25 women) have stayed at Donny’s Porter’s Tree Haus! We LOVE IT HERE! Donny goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and if you need anything all you have to do is ask! Waiting to see availability for next year!!!

Perfect Company Retreat

Owner is incredible. Him and his team go above and beyond the normal expectations to ensure you have a great time. Everything you will ever need is on their property and help us always a 5 minute phone call away. The house was clean, had a great layout, and overall was exactly what we were looking for; the best rental on the Frio. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Fantastic location

We were here with 21 family members (3-adult). The location was amazing. Easy short walk to a beautiful spot on the river. Never got crowded and was good for all ages. The rooms are also incredibly cold and dark, so everybody slept so good. We have already booked to return next year.

Gem on the Frio

We had the best time as a large group! The location of the house compared to the river is the best on the river! Even during a drought they had plenty of flow and the river where the house is located. We had the best hostess and she was so accommodating we loved every minute. Thank you for letting us all stay and we hope to see you next time!

Frio River Family Vacation

Great property with many options on where to stay. Ella’s was perfect for our family. Plenty of room and comfortable sleeping arrangements. The kitchen and living room were spacious. The outside area had plenty of room for cooking and hanging out. The path to the river was a short walk with a picnic table and our own access to the river. The owner, Donny, was very hospitable and quick to respond when we had a question. We are looking forward to making this our yearly family vacation spot!

Perfect Spot on the Frio!

After going to Neal’s every Memorial Day and Labor Day for over 30 years, we wanted to branch out and see what else was out there for our family. This place was perfect! We were right on the water, so no morning rush to get your spot set up, which was great! Perfect house for littles and up. Easy to just walk back up for nap time. Had everything we needed to cook and we utilized the laundry facility while we were there. Owner and Manager of the property was outstanding as a host. Very good people. Please do not hesitate to book this property or any of the others on site if you are wanting to gather your large family together. We made memories on the frio!!

Loved it!

We were a family of 20+ looking for our first Easter gathering since the pandemic began. Haggville and the house next door were perfect for us. The houses are beautifully furnished, quite comfortable and clean. Donny was easy to reach in advance and while there. He went out of his way to assure we all had a wonderful stay. The location right on the river was just beautiful. We want to come again!

Such a great place!

Beautiful property and so close to the river! We spent a lot of time on the river and outside. The outdoor siting area was very spacious and comfortable. Donnie was quick to respond and help with anything we needed! Great place!

Donny was an awesome owner! We had several questions & he always replied immediately…the Haggville Hacienda fit our family of 34 with privacy for every family in their rooms…The indoor kitchen was a great place to gather for breakfast & wake up, the outdoor kitchen is when we gathered for dinner & the fun continued..the pool & the private access to the river were the highlights for the kiddos/young adults/slightly older adults…we had 10 cars since we had family from several different cities & he had extra parking for our bunch…we made great memories & can’t wait to come back! thank you Donny!!!

Family retreat

The pictures do not do this place justice. It was amazing inside. We had the best time. A walk from the water plenty of space for the entire family. Fantastic time and will definitely be back.

Very unique river view property!

This house is very unusual with its King Ranch furnishings and custom made cabinetry and woodwork. The Pecan wood comes from the property and the owner has a sawmill where he prepared the woodwork. Huge sofa that was custom made and covered w beautiful leather. This is not the cookie cutter Room to Go type furnishings you find at many VRBO’s. Wonderful game room w pool table and large covered porch with porch furniture. Great for large families since it has many beds in the bedrooms. Donny, the owner, was very attentive and responded to any requests we had! This was one of the more unusual VRBO trips we have taken. Garner State Park which is close by is also fantastic for hiking and swimming on the Rio Frio!! You can also swim and wade right in front of the house!!!

Great Stay
